Canada Pacific Trials Association

2007 Calendar

This year looks to be bigger and better again. Biketrials seems to be gaining momentum, especially in the Lower Mainland and Victoria. There is also a large group of Alberta riders who do the big drive 3-4 times a year for competitions. There is a good base of younger riders, as well as the top 5 riders in North America at the Pro level.

To encourage young riders to learn about the sport we are putting on 2 free Biketrials Competition clinics. One is the weekend before the first competition of the year and the other is shortly after. Biketrials is a great sport to learn when you are young. It teaches you balance, and how to handle a bike in confined areas which helps in all aspects of biking!

At the clinics Jason and Steve Baia will be there, as well as other pro and expert riders available for personalized instruction. Sean Baia will be there with his camera which pretty much sums up the Baia Bros. We will have 4-5 competition "sections" laid out with different degrees of difficulty. A special Trials bike is not needed but a very heavy dual suspension bike will make it more difficult to maneuver around in tight areas. It is open to all ages but riders should at least have basic bike skills. All kids must have parental supervision.

It will be a very fun day and a perfect time to come out and learn some of the skills needed for Trials, as well as meet some of the top riders around. There will be free food and drink available to all participants.

The clinics will be held at the CPTA clubhouse and riding area which is near Belcarra.
